It is often said that bee pollen is nature’s most complete food. The Bible, other religious books, and even ancient Egyptian and Chinese texts have praise for the consumption of bee pollen. Bee pollen helps rejuvenate the body, stimulate glands and organs, enhance vitality, and bring about a longer life span. Bee pollen’s ability to consistently and noticeably increase energy levels makes it a favorite substance among many world class athletes and those interested in sustaining and enhancing quality performance. There are also many benefits of honey.
Bee propolis, often called Nature’s penicillin, has historically been used to treat TB, ulcers, mitosis, colitis and to boost immunity. Bee propolis destroys fungi, viruses and bacteria, even those resistant to penicillin, like staphyloccocus. It has bioflavonoids, with one being a natural antibiotic. As well, bee propolis boosts immune functioning, specifically by increasing the activity of phagocytes. Bee propolis stops inflammation by inhibiting prostaglandin production.
Bee propolis is a resin that bees collect from plants to use in constructing hives. Bees adopted sterilization habits long before humans. The bee hive is the most sterile place in nature. Propolis takes care of neutralizing any virus, bacteria, or fungi that comes into the hive. It’s also one of nature’s most powerful foods, propolis is a very complex mixture of resins, waxes, oils, balsams, and a small amount of pollen.
Bee propolis is a waxy substance collected by honey bees which contains phytotonizides. Immunity factors are believed to be part of phytotonizides that when used internally, stimulates the body giving it natural resistance to diseases just like a natural antibiotic. Propolis is gathered from all around the world, and proper temperature control will assure maximum freshness and consistency.
As a supplement, bee propolis does great against infections caused by bacteria. It helps stimulate ‘phagocytosis’; helps white blood cells to destroy bacteria. Gives good results against dry cough, inflammation of the mouth and throat’s mucous membranes, halitosis, ulcers, tonsilitis, and acne. The immune system is stimulated. As you can see, there are numerous health benefits within a jar of honey.
Royal jelly has a complex chemical structure, it is produced as food for larva by the young nurse bees. Although royal jelly may not equal bee pollen in popularity, it does so in salutary effects.
Royal jelly is produced by young nurse bees through secretions made from the glands on top of their heads. For two to three days, during the maturation process, young larvae are fed only royal jelly, while for queen larvae, it is their only food the for the rest of their lives. During the time the worker larvae are fed royal jelly, they develop fully; their weight multiplies about 250 times. The queen, who gets to eat only royal jelly her entire life, matures earlier than the workers by five days; and when fully grown, she’s twice as heavy as a worker bee. Worker bees live to about 35-40 days; while the queen lives to about 5-6 years and is very prolific. She gets fertilized once, and from then can lay as many as 3,000 eggs every day during the season. As incredible as this may seem, she can lay that many eggs for five years.
Bees aren’t the only ones who find this rich concentration of food useful. It contains large amounts of glucides, lipids, vitamins, hormones, proteins, mineral substances, enzymes, and specific vital factors acting as biocatalysts in cell regeneration process found in the body.
