This tip comes recommended by Dr. Oz, Gwyneth Paltrow, raw foodists everywhere, and myself. Everyone knows the importance of antioxidants (at least we hope you do!), as well as the importance of leafy greens in your diet. If you're lucky enough to have a home juicer, than I'd recommend throwing the following into it immediately:
- 1 cucumber
- 2 celery sticks
- 3 large leaves of kale
- a handful of parsley
- a handful of cilantro
- 2 handfuls of spinach
This is such an amazing thing to do for yourself each day. Some days, I find that it really takes me out of that mid-afternoon slump far better than caffeine. Now, if you're like me and have no juicer, you can go to your nearest juice bar (I like Whole Foods) and ask for everything green they have in a 12 oz. cup. And for newbies, it may be a good idea to add 1 oz. of apple juice and a squeeze of lemon until you get used to the taste. Sometimes I add fresh ginger as well. Happy Juicing :)
